Our second port was Juneau. Even though this is the State Capitol, the only way to get to Juneau is by water or air.

We had arranged ahead of time for a tour here, like we did in Skagway. This tour was a helicopter tour and landing at Mendenhal Glacier.
We took the bus from the port, through town, to the helicopter port. It wasn't too long before we donned our snow boots and boarded the helicopter for the Glacier.
The scenery was really something on the way to and from the glacier. But, the ride was much too short!
Once the helicopter landed, we were left on the glacier for about 25 minutes. There are 5 different helicopters at each run. When they dropped us off, they picked up others. There were guides on the glacier to show us around.
More on the Glacier....
