Sunday - June 1, 2003 - My birthday at sea
Captain's Log:
Since we set our clocks back last night, we got up earlier than usual this morning. A nice "surprise" was birthday balloons on our cabin door this morning.

After coffee in our room and breakfast at the buffet, I rode the bike in the Fitness Center for a while. Later I joined in the Line Dance lessons.

The sun tried to shine throughout the day, but it remained chilly.
In the afternoon, we went to the Special Feature Wildlife Presentation - Humpback Whales of the North Pacific. Brent (pictured left, 3rd from the left) gave this presentation also. He gave us tips on where to look for the whales as we sail into Alaska.
For dinner, our entire group ate in the dining room. We all shared champagne (a free bottle we got when we "bought" our race horse). The wait staff brought me a cake and a birthday card signed by the Captain. They sang happy birthday!
I didn't eat the rose on the cake, so our waiter wrapped it in foil for me in the shape of a bird (I think). The foil is in my right hand - a gift I received is in the other hand.
